Visual signs an AI image can leave behind

AI-generated images keep improving, but they can still leave clues. Hands are the most common one — fingers that merge together, extra joints, or shapes that don't quite match real anatomy. Ears sometimes show similar issues. Text inside an image often comes out garbled. Backgrounds can repeat the same pattern in a way real photos don't.

What this check can't do

No AI image detector is 100% accurate. Detection gets harder when a photo is compressed, resized, converted, or edited again after it was made — each of those steps can remove some of the small details the check relies on.
